In September 1980, several Yayoi pottery fragments were excavated from the Inayoshi Sumida Ruin in the midst of rice fields in the Inayoshi area. It is considered to be made during the late middle Yayoi period.
昭和55年9月、淀江平野の南東部、稲吉(いなよし)地区の水田にある弥生時代中期の稲吉角田遺跡から、十数点の弥生土器がみつかりました。
After the restoration, it became a large-sized vase that is 150 centimeters high and 50 centimeters in diameter at the mouth. Most amazingly, several drawings were engraved on this pottery.
復元すると高さ約150cm(残存高33cm)、口の直径約50cmの弥生時代中期後葉の大型壺形土器になり、この壺の頸部に線刻画が描かれていました。
These are considered a series of ‘festivals’ such as prayers for a good harvest in spring, gratitude for the autumn harvest, or scenes of the Yodoe Plain with the lakes and marshes.
これらの絵は、春の豊作の祈り、秋の収穫への感謝などの「まつり」に関係した一連のものか、あるいは湖沼が広がる淀江平野の情景を描いたものと考えられています。
There are various interpretations of these carvings, but judging from the shape of the pottery, it is believed to have been made for burial purposes.
絵画の解釈には諸説ありますが、土器の形態からみて、埋葬用に作られらたものと考えられます。

舟はゴンドラのようなもので、奈良県唐古・鍵(からこ・かぎ)遺跡出土の絵画土器に類似しています。鳥の羽を頭につけた3人以上が手にパドルのような櫂をもって舟を漕いでいます。
One of the buildings is located very high in the air and has a long ladders in front of it.

Another building is considered a raised-floor warehouse with a thatched roof.
